Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Silver Spring, MD
Need Help? We’re All Ears!
Most people know that brushing and flossing is an important part of oral hygiene. However, there are other parts of dentistry that do require more study, which leaves people with many questions. At the Dental Center of Aspen Hill, we want to make sure our patients are armed with the knowledge that they need to take care of both their own dental health as well as their family. If you have a question that isn’t listed below, please call us directly and we’ll help you however we can.
When should I visit the dentist?
We recommend most of our patients to schedule a routine checkup with us once every six months. This way, we can take care of any dental issues sooner, rather than later. If you happen to notice anything concerning, such as pain of dysfunction in your teeth, gums or other oral structures, call us.
Can I bring my child to the Dental Center of Aspen Hill?
Of course! Our practice is happy to treat smiles of all ages, which includes children (as well as your oldest family members.) We can help teens, school-aged children, and even toddlers. We’ll go above and beyond to ensure your child is always feeling comfortable during their visit. We are also prepared to help younger patients learn about the most important basics of dental care, so they can build habits that they take with them into adulthood.
What’s the best way to replace my missing teeth?
This answer will largely vary from patient to patient because each person is going to have their own unique needs. However, we typically recommend dental implants first and foremost because they offer the most complete and natural-looking solution available today. Not only do they require minimal maintenance, but they last for several decades with ease. If you want to learn more about this treatment and how they can rebuild your smile from top to bottom, call our office and schedule a consultation.
Do I need metal braces to straighten my teeth?
Not necessarily. With the help of Invisalign®, which does not use any metal brackets or wires at all, you only need to wear a series of clear plastic aligners to correct crowded or crooked teeth. Once worn, they will practically vanish! Plus, you can take them off whenever you need to eat or perform your routine brushing and flossing. Overall, Invisalign® is generally much shorter than traditional braces. If you aren’t sure if treatment is right for you, schedule a consultation with us by calling our office directly.
Do you accept my dental insurance plan?
The Dental Center of Aspen Hill is happy to be in-network with several PPO dental insurance plans, so it’s very likely that we accept yours as well. If you want to review a complete list of plans we accept, click here. Got a question about how we maximize your plan to the absolute fullest? We’re happy to help! Just give us a call directly.
How can save on my dental care if I don’t have insurance?
Yes you can. Even if you’re someone who lacks dental insurance, there are many special offers you can sign up for ahead of your next appointment. You can also utilize our Membership Club, which only requires paying one low annual fee to take advantage of basic dental care covered for the entire year. You can also gain access to many discounts on other treatments as well as other notable benefits. If it sounds too good to be true, don’t hesitate to sign up or call our office to learn more!
