Dr. Cyrus Allafi

As a dentist near Layhill for more than two decades, Dr. Allafi continues to help patients achieve and maintain better oral health for a lifetime.

Dr. Allafi graduated from Johns Hopkins University with his undergraduate degree before completing his doctorate at the University of Maryland Dental School. Since then, he has pursued various continuing education courses, completing hundreds of hours to further his skills and expand her service offerings. Some of the specialties he continues to focus on include dental implants, Invisalign®, dental prosthetics, and oral surgery.

Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, Dr. Sara Saba, a fellow dentist. He’s often in his garden or visiting various parks throughout Maryland.

Dr. Sara Saba

Dr. Saba’s experience spans more than two decades, combining her passion for art and science to deliver exceptional dental care to her patients. Before reaching her current status, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She then attended the same school for her doctorate. In the years since completing her formal education, Dr. Saba has completed various courses focused on FastBraces®, Invisalign®, and BOTOX®/dermal fillers.

She has also completed additional training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. There, she focused on neuromuscular dentistry so that she could diagnose and treat complex TMJ disorders and other craniofacial pain.

Her work as a dentist near Layhill allows her to integrate various technologies into her practice, and she is a trained Vivos Integrated Provider (VIP), specializing in sleep and airway health treatments.

She also uses electromyography (EMG) to assess jaw muscle activity for a more accurate diagnosis.

When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her with her husband, Dr. Allafi, and their two children. She enjoys swimming, doing yoga, biking, and hiking.

Dr. Azhar Akbert

Raised in Central Asia, Dr. Akber enjoys helping others who desire better oral health. His enthusiasm and skill make him a valuable asset to Dental Center of Aspen Hill, and our patients adore him and his work.

After moving to the U.S. at 16, he did not see a dentist until he was 19. This foreign idea led him to realize that his family's lack of knowledge about oral health prevention needed to change. He became committed to improving his and his family’s dental health, so he shadowed a local dentist and learned how the field combines science, medicine, and art.

He knew he was destined to become a dentist near Layhill after discovering how dentists work to relieve pain, restore smiles, improve oral function, and beautify patients’ teeth and gums, all while building connections and relationships that can last a lifetime.

Dr. Akber completed his dental degree at the University of California, San Francisco, before pursuing additional training in a general practice residency at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. There, he provided comprehensive care to veterans with complex medical histories.

In his spare time, he has taken continuing education courses through the Veterans Affairs Dental Services and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside the office, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, traveling, hiking, and visiting local and national parks.

Dr. Sung Jun

Dr. Jun is another dentist near Layhill who thrives on helping patients live with functional, healthy smiles. Interested in science and math at an early age, he later discovered a passion for biology. Knowing his future career would be in the medical field, he volunteered at hospitals and shadowed a local dentist.

Choosing dentistry as his preferred field, he attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore, for his dental doctorate before completing advanced training on dental implants.

When he’s not busy transforming smiles, Dr. Jun enjoys being with his wife and daughter, as well as camping, traveling, and visiting family and friends.
